Red underwear lead to the arrest of Christopher Shawn Lenzi, age 23, of Kingman on Thursday afternoon by Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies.
At approximately 1:00 pm, deputies responded to a call at a residence in the 3100 block of Thompson Avenue. Deputies contacted the victim who advised she had come home to find a male subject in her residence. The victim gave deputies a description of the male subject and advised he was only wearing red underwear.
The victim was able to identify the male subject during a photo line-up.
During the investigation, deputies located a cell phone in the backyard which did not belong to the victim.
Deputies retrieved information from the phone and discovered it belonged to a relative of Lenzi’s. During a computer search, deputies located an address belonging to Lenzi. Deputies responded to the residence in the 2300 block of Northfield Avenue. Deputies spoke to a family member who advised Lenzi was not home at the time but would have him contact the sheriff’s office when he returned. A short time later, Lenzi contacted deputies via telephone. Deputies responded back to the residence on Northfield Avenue and met with Lenzi. While speaking with Lenzi he showed deputies he was wearing red underwear. During conversations, Lenzi admitted to being inside the residence. Lenzi was taken into custody without incident.
Lenzi was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail.
