On February 20, 2017, two homicides happened in a short time frame. The first occurred in the Pima County Sheriff’s jurisdiction and the second occurred within the City of Tucson. Roque Gutierrez, age 27, was quickly apprehended and arrested in connection with the Tucson Police Department’s homicide.
On Thursday, Pima County Sheriff’s Department homicide detectives arrested Gutierrez in connection with the murder of 37-year-old Saul Saucedo-Zavala. Gutierrez was charged with an additional count of first degree murder.
