CBP Officers in Douglas Seize $103K in Marijuana

Officers found packages of marijuana throughout a smuggling vehicle, including within the seats.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port in Douglas, Arizona, arrested a Mexican national on Thursday (August 3) involving more than 200 pounds of marijuana.

Thursday evening, a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to a Ford truck driven by a 56-year-old Mexican man. Officers removed nearly 207 pounds of marijuana hidden throughout the vehicle, including within the engine compartment.

Officers seized the drugs, worth more than $103,000, and his vehicle. After arresting the man for drug smuggling, he was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
