Dear Editor:
On January 25, 2013, I had the pleasure to meet Mr. Sergio Arellano whom is a reporter for your web newspaper ADI. Prior to the meeting, my building which is located on 12th and Irvington had been graffitied. I had requested from the graffiti abatement to have the graffiti removed or repainted as I have many times in the past. To my surprise, the graffiti abatement denied my request. I then sent an e-mail to Laura, an aide to Regina Romero Ward 1 office, hoping to get support in having the graffiti removed. The reply was filled with excuses that the program no longer abates on private property.
Mr. Arellano took an interest in investigating the graffiti problem. When we met, we travelled south 12th Ave to see and speak to several business owners, whose buildings were also graffitied and with the same problem with having abatement do a cleanup.
On February 1st 2013, Mr. Arellano wrote an article in your ADI, TITLED:
Taggers, COT leave crime cover-up to Tucson businesses
To my surprise and based on this article, Graffiti Abatement did a cleanup on 12th Ave.
I bring this to your attention, to let you know that your Web Newspaper does make a difference.
The pen is mightier than the sword.
Your faithful reader,
Joe Flores
