Bowl for Kids’ Sake team building begins

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tucson’s largest annual fundraising event. Funds raised will support matches of children to caring volunteers through Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs. This year’s event takes place March 1 and 2 at Golden Pin Lanes, 1010 W. Miracle Mile, in Tucson.

This year’s theme is the Groovy 1960s…bell bottoms, flower power, peace, love and rock & roll! Organizers say that there is no need to be serious about bowling because the event is about having fun and helping kids. Team captains recruit four or five friends to form their teams, and then register with the Big Brothers Big Sisters office. Captains will receive a Bowl for Kids’ Sake team packet with a reservation for their teams’ bowling date and time. Each bowler will receive a pledge sheet and is responsible for raising $125 (or $625 per team) by collecting pledges from sponsors. Teams then come to Golden Pin Lanes on their scheduled date and time and celebrate their success with a bowling party, including two hours of free bowling, pizza, drinks, prizes and more! Everyone who raises a minimum of $125 receives a free T-shirt.

It costs $1000 to create and sustain each Big and Little match for one year. Bowl for Kids’ Sake helps raise these crucial funds.
