The Town of Oro Valley will once again host its very own July 4th Celebration and fireworks show at Naranja Park. This year’s event promises another spectacular fireworks show launched right over the park, twice as many food trucks, a new beer and wine garden, improved pedestrian access and a new shuttle location with faster service. Be sure to read complete details below. The FREE, family-friendly fun begins at 5 p.m., with live entertainment and activities for kids. Then at 9 p.m., festivities culminate with fireworks right over the park, so you’ll be able to feel the BOOM! Naranja Park is located at 810 W. Naranja Drive, just east of La Cañada.

NEW! BEER & WINE GARDEN
New this year is a beer and wine garden, hosted by the Oro Valley Sports Alliance and Hensley Beverage Company. Domestic and craft beer and wine will be available for purchase in an enclosed area of the event, with 50 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Town of Oro Valley for the installation of a play structure at Naranja Park. Cost is $6 for single tickets; $20 for four tickets. ID will be required.
VEHICLE ACCESS, PARKING AND FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE (NEW PICK-UP LOCATION)
There are improved plans for traffic, shuttle service, pedestrian access and parking this year! While there is onsite parking at Naranja Park, we know from last year’s event that this will fill up very quickly. Attendees who would like to skip the traffic lines and have stress-free transportation are encouraged to utilize the free shuttle service.
Shuttle Service
The service has been upgraded to 54-passenger coaches, equipped with air conditioning and plenty of storage. Shuttle-only routes will be set up for this year’s event, so the ride to Naranja will be fast and efficient. The shuttle pickup location has also changed to the Oro Valley Marketplace, located on the southwest corner of Oracle and Tangerine. The pick-up/drop-off area is the dirt lot to the west, just after you enter the Marketplace from the Tangerine Road entrance. Shuttle service will begin at 4:30 p.m., and attendees will be able to depart and return throughout the event; however, the last bus will leave from the Marketplace at 8:30 p.m. so that attendees arrive in time for the 9 p.m. fireworks show. Once the show concludes (approximately 9:30 p.m.), shuttles will be waiting to bring attendees back to the Oro Valley Marketplace.
Pedestrian/Bicycle Access
If you live in one of the neighborhoods surrounding Naranja Park, you can avoid the parking and traffic by walking over at your convenience. Town staff has just completed construction of a new multi-use path into the park from Naranja Drive, to improve pedestrian and bicycling safety.
Vehicle Access & Parking
If you decide to drive to the event, please note there will not be any parking permitted along Naranja Drive between Monterra Vista and Copper Creek. Additionally, speeds near the park entrance will be reduced to 25 miles per hour. Vehicle entry into the park will only be allowed via Naranja Drive. The northern access point from Tangerine Road will be exit only (except shuttles). For your safety, please be sure to carefully follow directions from on-site parking attendants. If parking lots are full, you will be directed to park at the Oro Valley Marketplace and ride the free shuttle (details above).
IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS & RULES
It will be hot out there, so hydration, sunscreen and shade are important. This year, attendees WILL be allowed to bring small pop-up tents and canopies as long as they are 10×10 feet or smaller, and are properly staked to the ground. Please look for the designated tent/canopy section of the field. While we encourage everyone to bring adequate water and sunscreen, in case you forget (or run out), we’ve got you covered! Free water and sunscreen will be available at hydration stations sponsored by Health Skin Dermatology (while supplies last).
For your safety, and the safety of others, the following are NOT permitted at this event:
- No pets
- No alcohol
- No smoking
- No glass containers
- No personal fireworks; no sparklers
