Tucson motorcyclist dies in collision

On April 11, 2013 at about 11:30 a.m., Tucson Police Department officers responded to the intersection of Tanque Verde Road and Paseo Rancho Esperanza regarding a motor vehicle collision. A passenger vehicle and a motorcycle had been involved in a collision.

The rider of the motorcycle was transported to a local area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival. The driver and sole occupant of the passenger vehicle was uninjured.

The rider of the motorcycle was identified as 49-year old Christopher Buck.

Detectives determined that Mr. Buck was riding a 1988 Honda motorcycle and was traveling westbound on Tanque Verde Road in the median lane. A 2002 Subaru Sedan, driven by a 42-year old male, was traveling eastbound on Tanque Verde Road and made a northbound turn towards Paseo Rancho Esperanza in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle struck the passenger side of the sedan. No citation was issued at the scene, as the investigation is ongoing. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.
