Rep. David Cook Arrested For DUI

Governor Doug Ducey on the campaign trail with Rep. David Cook

Rep. David Cook, one of the controversial Arizona legislators behind the massive increase in the Vehicle Licensing Fee,  was arrested last night on a DUI by Department of Public Safety officers.

According to authorities, Cook had a BAC level twice the legal limit.

It is still unknown where the incident happened, but the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has denied that the incident occurred in Cook’s home county of Pinal.

Cook was the co-sponsor of the bill, which  allowed non-elected officials to raise the Vehicle Licensing Fee with the intention of funding the Department of Public Safety.

One lawmaker told the ADI upon hearing the news, “It is nice to know that our troopers don’t show favoritism; only our governor does that kinda of quid pro quo thing. “
