Lyons School neighbors should ignore screaming, shouting, simulated gunfire

People living nearby by Lyons Elementary School may hear screaming, shouting, and simulated gunfire as part of the training by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department from June 24, 2013 thru August 7, 2013. The training will run from 2:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Department will be conducting tactical training at the school which will consist of simulated shooting drills and other dynamic tactical exercises. This is to provide deputies with a reality based training environment.

According to the Sheriff’s Department the training is part of a continuing effort to keep its deputies proficient on the various types of emergency situations they may encounter.
