DPS is searching for a 2005-2007 dark green Jeep Liberty that struck a bicyclist and fled from the scene. The hit and run collision occurred on October 24, 2013, at approximately 7:06 a.m.
The green Jeep Liberty was traveling eastbound on Ajo Way, approaching the I-19 southbound on ramp. A bicyclist was traveling westbound on the sidewalk along Ajo Way, approaching the same intersection. The bicyclist entered the crosswalk and was struck by the Jeep Liberty.
The Jeep Liberty was last seen by witnesses fleeing the scene, southbound on Interstate 19. The vehicle had damage to the front end and lost the grill during the collision.
The bicyclist was seriously injured and transported to University of Arizona Medical Center, where they remain in critical condition.
