Pima County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 6900 blk. of North Omar Drive and La Cholla Blvd. in reference to a collision involving a wheelchair versus a vehicle, on June 7. Upon arrival, they found Carol Nichter suffering from injuries sustained when she was struck by a vehicle in the roadway.
Ms. Nichter was transported to the Trauma Center at the University Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased.
Pima County Sheriff’s investigators responded for further investigation. It was discovered that Ms. Nichter was crossing La Cholla Boulevard in an electric wheelchair against a red light when she was struck by a passenger vehicle.
