Top Arizona baby name trends continue

The Arizona Department of Health Services director Will Humble says the state “is on a great trajectory for success if you go by baby names.” According to Humble, the most popular boy’s name in 2013 was Liam, which means strong-willed warrior, and the most popular girl’s name – Sophia – means wisdom.

Liam moved up to first place from fourth last year. Noah, Daniel and Alexander finish the top five on the boys’ list, according to Humble.

Sophia placed number 1 again. According to Humble, the top five girl’s names didn’t change from 2012 in Arizona: 1. Sophia 2. Isabella, 3. Emma, 4. Mia 5.Olivia.
