David Raber has been named as the new Director of the Arizona Department of Revenue (ADOR). Raber has been serving as the Acting Director since the death of Director John Greene in October 2013.
Raber has served as the Chief Deputy Director for the Arizona Department of Revenue since 2011. In this role, he oversaw Arizona’s primary tax collection agency – including more than 800 employees – and provided strategic leadership and direction of eight department divisions, including: Audit, Collections, Taxpayer and External Services, Processing, Tax Policy, Property Tax, Information Technology and Administrative Services.
Prior to joining ADOR, Raber served as Interim Director (2009-2010) and Deputy Director (2011) for the Arizona Department of Administration and was Director of Pipeline and Railroad Safety (2007-2009), Director of Corporations (2004-2007) and Deputy Director of Securities (2004) for the Arizona Corporation Commission. He also has worked for the Arizona Governor’s Office’s Community Policy Office (1998-2003); Arizona State Land Department (1995-1998); Del Webb Corporation (1994-1995); Magma Copper Company (1992-1994) and the Arizona Department of Administration’s General Accounting Office (1989-1992). He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Arizona State University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
