On March 4, 2014, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department Crimes Against Children Unit began investigating a report that a minor female had been sexually involved with a Pima County Sheriff’s Department corrections officer. The relationship began in late 2013 and ended in early 2014. Investigative efforts revealed evidence of the sexual relationship and subsequently detectives arrested Yennifer Reyes on March 5, 2014.
Corrections Officer Reyes was transported to the Pima County Adult Detention Center. Corrections Officer Reyes had been with the Sheriff’s Department since May 2005. The Sheriff’s Department was in the process of terminating Reyes when Reyes resigned on March 6, 2014.
