While everyone was busy paying attention to Obama and Putin… something else was going on. According to Stuff.co Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II became an unexpected buffer between the presidents. “The dignitaries were in France overnight for ceremonies marking the 70th anniversary of the D-Day invasion. Obama appeared “to go out of his way to avoid contact with Putin despite coming within an arm’s length of his Russian counterpart.”

Michelle Obama, Barack Switch Seats After Mandela Funeral ‘Selfie’
It appears the president could be in the doghouse with first lady Michelle Obama after a selfie with a couple of European leaders at Nelson Mandela’s funeral.
Interpreting a series of photos taken at Mandela’s memorial service Tuesday, it looked like President Barack Obama was having fun posing for a selfie with British Prime Minister David Cameron and Denmark Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt, while wife Michelle Obama wanted no part of it.
