One person has and two others are injured after a moving van traveling I-10 crossed the median and crashed in a tractor-trailer and another car.
The accident happened near Cortaro Farms Road and Twin Peaks Road and shut down traffic lanes for 4 hours.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety reported that the deceased person was the driver of the moving van. He was described as 41 years of age from California.
According to KGUN9 News, “The driver of the semi-truck is in serious but stable condition after receiving head injuries. A 64-year-old female driving the passenger car was treated and released from the hospital with a leg injury and neck pain.”
The man who died was driving a moving truck westbound when he “lost control” and went off the right side of the interstate before over-correcting, swerving across westbound lanes, and crashing through two sets of median cable barriers, said Officer Carrick Cook, a spokesman for the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
