While Texas Governor Rick Perry is taking on President Obama about the porous border and the thousands of illegal aliens including gang members, who are being quietly placed in Arizona communities, Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer is planning a golf outing.
Residents of Sun City are expected to watch Governor Brewer’s ceremonial signing of a bill that makes it legal for Sun City residents to drive their golf carts on the side of the road.
More than 200 golf carts are expected to parade down Sun City’s South Golf Course cart path Aug. 14 in celebration of this landmark legislation.
The legislation clarifies the law so that golf car drivers can continue to drive along the side of the road, which they have been doing since 1960 in Sun City and 1978 in Sun City West, when the communities were established.
Brewer will be joined by Majority Whip Rick Gray.
