Pima County Sheriff’ Department reported on July 12, 2014, at 11:42 a.m., Green Valley District deputies responded to the desert area approximately ten miles southwest of Mission Road and McGee Ranch Road reference a public accident. When deputies arrived, they learned 68-year-old Terry Duncan was riding down a steep hill on an all-terrain vehicle (ATV), lost control, and hit his head.
Mr. Duncan was immediately unresponsive.
A friend who was riding in the desert with Mr. Duncan on a different ATV, attempted life-saving measures, however Mr. Duncan was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The Sheriff’s Department Traffic Unit responded and took over the investigation.
Mr. Duncan was not wearing a helmet and it is believed that alcohol or drugs were not a factor in the accident.
