On August 26, 2014, at approximately 7:41 AM, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department responded to a situation involving a 2-year-old child who was found lying in a driveway with a bleeding head injury. Rural Metro Fire Department contacted deputies, who responded to the 3300 block of East Behan Street.
Upon their arrival, the responding ambulance had already rushed the child to a local trauma center. The boy remains there in critical condition. Multiple investigative units with the Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the scene. Among them were the Traffic, Homicide, and Crimes and against Children units. All are working together to piece together what happened to the toddler.
The investigation is ongoing.
