Arizona’s counties continue to tabulate ballots from the 2014 Primary Election with over 3,000 ballots still needing to be processed.
State law gives the counties five business days, until the end of Wednesday, September 3, to verify and process the remaining early and provisional ballots.
Election results are unofficial until the Canvass. A state canvass to certify official election results for federal, statewide and legislative races is scheduled for September 8.
As of today it appears that Arizona Speaker Andy Tobin has beaten fellow Republican Gary Kiehne in the highly competitive race for the Republican nomination in the 1st Congressional district. The tight margin of the race makes a recount probable.
