Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents rescued two male illegal immigrants who found themselves in a dangerous predicament over the weekend.
Just before sunset on Oct. 10, Tucson Station agents responded to a sensor activation in the Baboquivari mountain range west of Arivaca, Arizona. After hiking into a remote canyon, agents located two illegal immigrants suffering from dehydration. Due to the location and their medical condition, agents decided to have the pair airlifted from the area.
An Arizona Department of Public Safety helicopter flew in to extract both men and fly them to a designated location where emergency medical services personnel were standing by to assist.
After treatment in a local hospital, both individuals were processed for removal in accordance with Tucson Sector guidelines.
