On October 19, at 1:30 a.m., officers from the Scottsdale Police Department responded to a family fight call at a home in the area of 7500 E. De La O Road. The female victim, age 34, was physically assaulted by her live-in boyfriend, Travis Carter.
When officers arrived, the female was removed from the home, interviewed and taken to the hospital for a broken nose. As the officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, he displayed a knife and barricaded himself inside of the home.
The SWAT team was called out and four surrounding homes were evacuated. After five hours, Carter was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for minor injuries. Carter has been charged with Threats, Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Conduct.
