San Luis CBP arrests smuggler with $60K in meth

SanluismethU.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a Yuma, Arizona man Nov. 4 for attempting to smuggle nearly 20 pounds of methamphetamine into the United States.

A CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the dashboard of a Volkswagen sedan, driven by Trinidad Ybarra, 39, at the Port of San Luis. Officers then found 15 packages of crystal meth in the vehicle’s firewall.

Officers seized the drugs, worth more than $60,000, and vehicle. Ybarra was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
