Another Pacific storm is currently pushing into California will move across Arizona Wednesday and Thursday. This storm system will again bring a very good chance of Valley Rain and an even better chance of Mountain Snow to Southeast Arizona late Wednesday into Thursday.
The Weather Service reports:
Hazards/Impacts: • MOUNTAIN SNOW could cause difficult travel at high elevations, especially the White Mountains and Mt Graham where 6 to 12 inches of snowfall accumulation is possible above 6000 feet. In the other sky islands, 4 to 8 inches of snowfall accumulation will be possible above 6000 feet, especially for the Catalina mountains. • VALLEY RAIN will impact the majority of the area, with rainfall amounts ranging between 0.25” to 0.65”, with isolated higher amounts possible.
Timing: Light rain will move into western Pima county Wednesday morning then increase through Southeast Arizona Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. Clearing from the west Thursday afternoon.
Confidence: HIGH for mountain snow and valley rain. MODERATE to HIGH for rain and snow amounts.
Outlook for next weekend: Another Pacific storm may bring another chance of valley rain and mountain snow to southeast Arizona Saturday night into Sunday.
