On December 17, 2014, the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit developed information that a person in the Tucson area was downloading and sharing child pornography on the internet.
The investigation led detectives to the home of 46 year old Jerry Hershey.
Detectives served a search warrant at Mr. Hershey’s home in the 5800 block of East Lee Street. During the search warrant his computers were collect for evidentiary purposes. The computers contained hundreds of videos and images of inappropriate conduct involving underage children. The suspect was interviewed and admitted to downloading the illegal material.
He was arrested shortly after and booked into the Pima County Jail reference 10 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
