Navajo County public service is a family affair

navajo-countyNavajo County employee Shirley Hunt, an employee of the Public Defender’s Office, looked on as her son, Boyce “BJ” Little Jr., was sworn in as the Justice of the Peace for Winslow. Hunt has worked for Navajo County for over 9 years.

BJ’s sister, Chantilly Snelling traveled from Phoenix for the swearing in ceremony. Snelling has spent over 20 years working in social services with a portion of that time working for Navajo County.

B.J. has worked in Navajo County Probation, counseling and advising youth in corrective programs. He was a Drug Court team member working with drug addicts to turn their lives around. He has dedicated himself to the Winslow community, and the Winslow High School Football program for over 20 years. He will tell you that his most important role as the head coach is not to develop football players, but to develop strong, morally-driven young men.

B.J.’s sister Chantilly will tell you that his greatest success is his marriage to wife Terri of 20 years and their two children, college student Timmy and junior high daughter Brianna. Chantilly explains how her brother takes care of their mother in a way that is reminiscent of their late father, Boyce Little, Sr.

Chantilly states that B.J. feels humbled in receiving this honor. Family and friends will tell you for that reason alone, he is the perfect man for the job say Navajo County officials.
