Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents successfully located an individual alleged to have stolen an SUV and tractor in Willcox, Arizona.
At approximately 1 p.m. on January 10, Willcox Border Patrol Station agents were notified by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office that a stolen Hummer had rolled over near Bell Ranch Road, and a subject was observed fleeing the scene. Agents using tracking skills located an individual matching the description of the fleeing subject, and driving a large tractor a few miles from the scene. The male suspect, a U.S. citizen identified as Bobby Ray Carter, yielded to agents and was taken into custody without incident.
Agents returned the stolen tractor to its owner. The Hummer carjacking victim sustained injuries requiring Lifeflight transportation to the University Medical Center.
A records check revealed the suspect has a criminal history to include a felony, second-degree robbery conviction and spent two years in jail. Carter now faces charges of vehicle theft, theft, burglary, criminal damage, threatening and robbery. CCSO is the lead investigative agency.
