milk-truckOn Saturday, February 7th, 2015 at 12:28 p.m. the Pinal County Sheriff’s 9-1-1 Communications Center received calls reporting a semi-truck pulling a trailer had rolled over on Montgomery Road south of Highway 84.

Deputies and medics responded to the call as the driver was reportedly still pinned inside of the cab of the truck.

Firefighters immediately began working to extricate the driver who was later identified as Daryoush Kaldani (age 44 of Goodyear). After being extricated he was flown to Chandler Regional Hospital. It was later learned his injuries were minor.

The commercial vehicle belonged to “Arizona Milk Transport” and was filled with milk for a delivery. The crash is still under nvestigation. Driver impairment does not appear to be a factor.

Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Prior to the crash, Kaldani was traveling northbound on Montgomery Road. He told members of the Pinal County Sheriff’s Vehicular Crimes Unit that he was having steering problems, which caused the vehicle to go off of the roadway to the right. When his tires went into a ditch with a steep grade it caused the vehicle to roll over. Thankfully, he was able to get his vehicle to the right and not into oncoming traffic. As a result, the injuries were minor.”
