
The Tucson Police Department is investigating a single vehicle collision in the 600 block of West Roger Road in which 25-year-old Gabriel Villanueva was killed.
On April 22, 2015, around 08:13 a.m., Tucson Police Department officers, along with members from the Tucson Fire Department, responded to a report of a vehicle collision into a fence. Upon arrival, they located Mr. Villanueva with obvious injuries. Mr. Villanueva was transported to Banner University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries. Mr. Villanueva, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on Friday.
Detectives from the Tucson Police Department Traffic Investigations Unit responded to continue the investigation. They were able to determine that Mr. Villanueva was driving a 2001 Mazda 626 eastbound on Roger Road behind another vehicle. Mr. Villanueva attempted to pass the other vehicle on the left but went off the roadway and struck a chain link fence at 650 West Roger Road. The investigation is ongoing to determine the factors that contributed to this collision.
