Today is the last day Arizona voters should try to mail in their early ballot for the August 28, 2012 Primary Election. Vote-by-mail ballot must be received by the time the polls close on Election Day, Tuesday, August 28, 2012.
In order to meet that deadline it is recommended that voters mail in their ballot by Friday, August 24, 2012. If voters do not mail their ballot by that date, the Recorder’s Office recommend that you hand deliver it to ensure it reaches our your county Recorder’s office in time.
“Over 745,000 early ballots have either been mailed or requested and more than 247,000 ballots have been returned for processing and tabulation as of August 21,” said Maricopa County County Recorder Helen Purcell.
August 17 was the last day ballots could be requested by mail; however, voters still have until 5pm Friday, August 24 to vote early in person at any early voting location. These locations are listed on the Recorder’s website, www.recorder.maricopa.gov. All early ballots must be returned by 7pm Election Day, August 28. They can either be dropped off at any polling location or at any of the County Recorder’s three offices (111 S. 3rd Ave., Phoenix, 510 S 3rd Ave., Phoenix, or 222 East Javelina, Mesa.)
To date, the Pima County Recorder’s office has mailed out 223,838 ballots and we have received back a total of 101,803 of those ballots.
In Pima County, the nine early voting sites maintained by the Recorder’s office will be closing on Friday, August 24, at 5:00 p.m. (except Sahuarita, which closes at 4:30 p.m.). Voters can also drop off their ballot at any of the Recorder’s offices (115 North Church Ave. in Tucson, 6550 S Country Club Rd., or 6920 E Broadway Blvd. Suite D) between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. weekdays or at any polling location on Primary Election Day.
