The Duce, a Phoenix Warehouse District hotspot, has captured the Food Network’s interest. The vintage 1928 warehouse turned restaurant-bar-boxing gym-sport shop-recreation center made its’ debut on Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive Ins & Dives in July of 2013.
The restaurant will appear on episode #1 of Food Network’s “Craziest Restaurants in America” hosted by Graham Elliot on June 3.
“The Duce is the brainchild of two Chicago transplants who had a vision of what Phoenix’s historic Warehouse District could be long before the revitalization of downtown Phoenix was complete,” said Duce Owner Steve Rosenstein. “We fell in love with the area and put our hearts and souls…not to mention a few bucks into something we knew would eventually become one of the coolest-hottest neighborhoods in Arizona.”
A place for anyone-everyone, The Duce hosts special events, corporate parties, Friday Night Bands, Sunday brunch and boxing lessons. A favorite of local politicians and professional athletes, the Duce makes everyone feel right at home.
The Duce offers a unique niche and provides guests an opportunity to celebrate “all things vintage” with unforgettable food, rare finds and classic “center ring” entertainment. The unique one-of-a-kind restaurant occupies a remodeled 1928 warehouse space that once anchored the bustling produce district by day and the notorious deuce by night…dice, vice, jazz and other not so good clean fun. Today, the revitalized space features a boxing ring, punching bag and good food prepared in the Duchess, a fully-equipped 1968 streamline camper. Duce visitors can also partake in classic activities such as ping pong, shuffleboard, corn hole (aka “duce bagz”) and antique shopping for classic clothes and artifacts.
“The owners of the Duce were truly thought leaders for seeing the vision of what the Warehouse District could become, as one of the first businesses to open in what is now one of the most exciting parts of Phoenix,” Councilwoman Kate Gallego said. “The Duce is giving our Warehouse District credibility and momentum with Millennials and Boomers by bridging the generation gap among two distinct generations relocating to the downtown core.”
