Kenneth Wakefield, age 43, has been identified as the person responsible for the decapitation of a woman and mutilation of two dogs last week.
Wakefield had been hospitalized after cutting off his own arm and gouging out one of his eyes. Wakefield and the bodies of his victims were discovered by a neighbor shortly before 10:00 a.m.. last Saturday in the area of 13th Place and Colter Street.
He was booked on one count of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty by Phoenix police. He is being held on a $2 million bond.
