$1,000 Reward by Yavapai Silent Witness
On Sunday, August 2, 2015, at around 9 p.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Family Dollar store located in the 34000 of S Old Black Canyon Highway, Black Canyon City.
Suspect description (see sidebar photos):
Male, armed with a handgun,
likely Caucasian, in his early 20’s,
weight 155-170 pounds,
height approximately 5’08” to 5’ 10”
wearing a grey sweat shirt possibly inside out,black short pants,
Black cap with a grey front panel displaying a logo ‘Starter’ brand logo on the cap’s bill
Possible suspect vehicle – late model SUV described as burnt orange / metallic red in color.
Just before 9 p.m., the lone suspect entered the Family Dollar store and asked for help finding a can of WD-40. Once at the counter, the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it directly towards one of the two clerks in the store and demanded money. The clerks complied by placing currency from the register on the counter which was then gathered up by the suspect. Before leaving, the suspect fired a round from the handgun into the wall while standing in close proximity to the clerks intending to intimidate them. The suspect then fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. The clerks did not see or hear a vehicle. The suspect vehicle description came from a witness who had exited the store just prior to the robbery and saw the suspicious SUV in the Family Dollar store parking lot.
