Early Morning Homicide Investigation By Tucson Police

The Tucson Police Department is currently investigating another homicide that occurred early this morning in the 2300 block of  North Northway Avenue just south of Grant Road.

Just after midnight on September 13, 2015, several citizens called 911 to report hearing arguing followed by sounds of gunshots in the area of East Edison Street and North Northway Avenue.

Officers from Operations Division Midtown arrived on scene within minutes and began canvassing the area. During the canvass, officers observed the front door to a residence in the 2300 block of North Northway was open. The officers conducted a check inside the residence and located an adult male with obvious injury. Members from the Tucson Fire Department responded. However, the male was pronounced deceased on scene.

The victim from this morning’s homicide has been identified as 42-year-old Michael Oleisky. Next of kin have been notified.

The identity of the victim is being withheld, pending next of kin notification. Detectives from the Tucson Police Department’s Homicide Unit, Home Invasion Unit and Night Detectives Unit responded to the scene to continue the investigation.

No suspects have been identified at this time. Detectives are continuing their investigative efforts and are encouraging anyone with information to please call 88-CRIME.
