Does President Obama need racism for re-election?

By Paul Roper

There was so much promise at the time of Barack Obama’s inauguration, that hinged on the fact he was to be the first Black President of the United States. So much hope, that we could begin the dismantling of so many stereotypes, which had persisted for so many years. Too many words had come from the candidate himself, words that made the American people believe that the long-standing conflicts between the racial and ethnicity biases would be a thing of the past.

This is a difficult subject to approach for anyone, but one that needs to be addressed. People’s objectivity seems to dissipate when you debate either the perpetuation of racial basis or the effects; however, this President was going to deliver the U.S. to a new, more informed place in our evolution, and he has certainly been afforded the chance, but like most of his campaign promises, he has failed. If anything, he has used race to further divide people, and create an us against them mentality, in order to divide America, in direct opposition to what he said he would do. This debate would not even be pertinent, but given the fact that another Video Recording of near candidate Obama in 2007, speaking in a different voice inflection, and giving a shout-out to Reverend Jeremiah Wright, a friend, an ultra-racist, this is not a Video of an idealistic college student, this is a Video of Obama who clearly knew he was about to become a candidate for the Presidency of the United States.

The President has benefited in one way; he has been able to brand many critics as something more than just critics-racists. On September 11, 2012, our American Embassy in Benghazi, Libya was attacked, and we later found out that it was a coordinated terror attack; from the time it happened, the Administration lied and said it was not a coordinated attack. Now, the White House kept to that story until the Libyan government leaked that it was an act of terror. Imagine if any previous administrations including Bill Clinton, had handled it the same way. The questions that would be asked are pointed and simple:

A. Why did you lie to the American people about this? and,
B. What else have you lied to America about?

Fair questions indeed, but all we seem to hear from the Administration and the main stream media is crickets.

The America that we are left with is far from the one envisioned, and certainly not the one the President promised. What we are left is is the President’s constant drone of “Tax the 1%”, creating class division with the only group that could help restart our economy; an exacerbated divide between blacks, hispanics and whites on everything from jobs to immigration brought on by all the promises of “Hope and Change.”

So what do you do when you have an abysmal record? You do what the Obama administration does: spin, blame shift to George W. Bush, lie, and last, but not least, play the race card, and try and portray whoever is being critical as an extremist, and intimate they just may be a little racist. And that way, the Administration can marginalize any one that is critical of their policies and their actions.

The Press is as much a part of the problem as the Administration themselves. Recently while interviewing Governor Romney, a Reporter from CNN News asked the Governor, “What are you going to tell the Black community if you defeat the first Black President” and to Governor Romney’s credit, he answered, “I want to be President of all the people?” Now, imagine if Sean Hannity from Fox News said to the President “Mr. President, how will you handle telling all the White people in America that they are going to have a Black President for another four years”?

Now, do you see where we are going with this, there is a massive double standard that is happening and Americans are tired of it. Let’s face it, the American people were sold a different bill of goods from Obama, than they have received, and whether the Administration wants to admit it or not, they have failed, so in the place of success, we have, divisiveness and the majority of Americans are not happy about it. In an article titled “Federal data shows troubling unemployment, underemployment trends” Professor Andrew Sum, an economics professor at Northeastern University in Boston states:

“One startling result, he said, is that only 43 percent of African-American men, aged 18 to 29, have a full time job.”

Rather than take responsibility for the terrible situation that he has created for all Americans, he makes a rambling plea to a Blacks only audience, and tells them he needs the Black communities’ support for another four years. Why, does he want to see if he can keep 100% of Black Males out of a job? Why appeal to only one racial group? Does he really care that they have been hurt the worst, or is he really just taking advantage of their support only to further his own failed agenda which has fallen on their communities the hardest. He must believe that this is an admirable goal. Furthermore, imagine if Governor Romney made a campaign video aimed only at Whites? What would the media’s response be then? Yet, President Barack Obama (a/k/a Barry Soetoro) gets a pass, not sure why, but he does, and by the way, they just keep cramming that garbage down your throat with pandering interviews for the President.

All of America has been duped by Obama; a guy who did more than just over promise and under perform. At the time he was running, I believe that most people knew that he could not accomplish all that he was selling us, but the one thing people thought he could change was perception. But then he realized that by not changing it, he could be kept from under the microscope of critics that every President in history has had to face, and he has tried to manipulate race and class division to his advantage, further dividing the American people. Instead, the President has lowered the bar so low that even his critics are laughing. It seems that the double-standard has turned into a double-edge sword, one I believe that is about to cut him out of the Presidency. It’s just too bad that he can’t take the main stream media with him!
