A Chaparral High School teacher, Christopher Thomas McKenna, has been arrested for sexual misconduct, according to the Scottsdale Police Department. McKenna, age 37, was arrested for having an ongoing sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student since 2014.
McKenna was placed on leave pending an investigation. He has worked for the District since 2008.
According to the District, McKenna taught physical education at eight different schools in the District. McKenna was the girls’ track and field and cross-country coach at Chaparral High.
Mckenna was named the District’s Teacher of the Year in 2014.
