The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office received a call on Monday from a resident of Apache reporting a stolen vehicle. When deputies arrived on the scene the victim said that he went to pick up his wife at work earlier in the morning, and on the way back to their residence in Apache he noticed his truck being driven towards him on the roadway.
The victim said that he chased the vehicle and got it to stop and he held the driver at gunpoint until Cochise County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene. There was 59.55 pounds of marijuana located in the bed of the truck at the time of the stop.
Augustine Lugo Zepeda, age 40, of Sinola, Mexico was arrested and is being charged with Motor Vehicle Theft, Importation of Drugs, and Theft (items stolen from the residence).
