Victim Discovers Burglary In Progress, 4 Arrested

The afternoon of  January 4, 2016, at approximately 4 PM, 54-year-old Laurie McPhall from Prescott, 55-year-old Lucinda Duran from Prescott, 54-year-old David Weber from Prescott, and 57-year-old Michael Polasky from Prescott Valley, were arrested for various charges including Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Theft.

The crime occurred on a parcel in the Juniper Woods Ranch subdivision of Ash Fork, AZ.

All four were booked at the Camp Verde Detention and each remains in-custody on a $10,000 bond – except McPhall, whose bond is set at $35,000 because of a probation violation warrant.

On January 4, 2016, around 3:30 p.m., Yavapai County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a burglary in progress occurring in Juniper Woods Ranch. The victim had arrived on the residential property to see 4 suspects loading items into a cream colored van. When the van left, the victim followed and contacted the Sheriff’s Office with a description and direction of travel – south on Highway 89 towards Paulden. As the van approached Drake Road north of Paulden, a YCSO deputy spotted the vehicle. With assistance from Chino Valley Police Units, the deputy eventually stopped the van near Big Chino Road off Highway 89 in the Family Dollar parking lot. 4 suspects were detained.

The victim met deputies at the traffic stop and confirmed that several items stolen from the location, including mechanics tools and camping supplies, were inside the suspect’s van. The victim explained that when he initially arrived at the Juniper Woods Ranch home, he noticed the front gate lock was cut open and saw the 4 suspects moving between their van and a motor home parked on the property. The suspects then entered the van and left with the victim following.

While searching the van, deputies discovered numerous hypodermic syringes inside likely associated with narcotics use. Weber and Polasky were in possession of additional stolen items.  McPhall had apparently stayed on the property in the past and was aware of its content, but did not have permission to return. She admitted her intent to pawn some of the stolen items for cash.
