Maricopa County To Go “Smoke Free”

Beginnning on March 16, 2016, any tobacco products – including smokeless tobacco – and e-cigarettes are prohibited on all Maricopa County-owned properties.

“This past November, we announced our BreatheEasy initiative, which will make all County-owned properties tobacco-free starting March 16,” said Maricopa County Manager Tom Manos.

New Policy starting March 16:

The use of all tobacco products – including smokeless tobacco products and e-cigarettes – is prohibited on all Maricopa County-owned property. This includes buildings, walkways, and parking lots. The borders extend to the edges of the properties and other County-owned properties. The new policy will not extend to perimeter sidewalks (those located beside public thoroughfares). There will no longer be areas designated for smoking or available ashtrays. All employees, visitors, and vendors will be asked to adhere to the tobacco-free policy while on Maricopa County property.
