Valentines Treats For Maricopa County Deadbeats

Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio ordered his deputies and volunteer posse this Valentine’s Day weekend to arrest moms and dads with warrants for failure to pay child support. During the past fifteen years, Sheriff Arpaio has made the arrests of deadbeat parents a top priority.

This year 70 deputies, reserve deputies, and the volunteer armed posse fanned out across Maricopa County to track down and arrest those who have failed to follow court orders and have absconded their parental responsibilities.

Just in the last 13 years, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has locked up over 800 deadbeats and purged over 4.1-million dollars during these operations. And this past year alone, the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has served a total of 7,990 warrants.

Sheriff Arpaio says, “Children are a lifetime commitment and even if the relationship doesn’t work out, you still owe it to your children to support them!”
