Customs and Border Protection officers at the Raul Hector Castro Port of Entry arrested a McNeal, Ariz. resident Thursday for an alleged attempt to smuggle nearly 149 pounds of marijuana worth $74,000.
Officers arrested Thomas Reade, 26, after a CBP narcotics-detection canine alerted to drugs concealed within his Jeep SUV. Officers removed more than 100 packages of marijuana, hidden throughout the vehicle and within all four tires.
Officers seized the drugs and vehicle, and turned Reade over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
