Tucson Fire Responds To Near Drowning

Tucaon Fire Department units responded to a residence in the 8000 block of East Kenyon for reports of a near drowning involving an approximate two-year old female, the second water related call over the past nine days. The child was found in the swimming pool and an emergency dispatcher provided CPR instructions over the phone to the adults on scene.

Tucaon Fire Department paramedics arrived on scene and quickly assessed the child before transporting the child to an area hospital for further medical treatment. It was unknown as to how long the child has been in the water. Initial reports were that the pool had a fence around it but the gate was open.

It is not known at this time how the gate was opened or how the child ended up in the water.
