Oro Valley Town Council Candidates’ Petitions Available

Council members Mike Zinkin, Bill Garner and Brendan Burns, the three citizen centric candidates who were elected to Oro Valley Town Council in 2012, have announced their candidacy for re-election in the August 30 primary election. Each candidate must collect a minimum of 381 signatures on Nomination Petitions to be on the ballot.

Residents say that for the past four years, Mike, Bill, and Brendan have fulfilled their campaign promises to support smart growth for the Town, advocate for their constituents, and guard taxpayer dollars. They have demonstrated leadership and have a proven track record of fiscal responsibility.

This upcoming election is critical to Oro Valley’s future and residents believe that they cannot gamble on unproven candidates. The three golf courses are projected to lose 2 million dollars per year and town management will likely be in transition. The Town cannot afford a loss of even one seat which would give the Mayor a supermajority and several years of unopposed control.

Interested Oro Valley residents can sign petitions at the Oro Valley Library, 1305 W. Naranja Drive, on Monday through Friday (March 14 through March 18) from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
