
On March 19, 2016, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Pima County deputies responded to the Pima Animal Care Center regarding inmate Sarah Herrera walking away from her work crew.
Inmate Sarah Herrera was working as part of an inmate work crew when she disappeared. Ms. Herrera was in custody, serving time for misdemeanor trespassing and shoplifting charges.
She served four of her eighteen required days. She was last seen wearing a red Pima County Jail uniform possibly with a red sweatshirt. Following the escape, a white sports utility vehicle was seen parked in the area where jail clothing was found.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Department Fugitive Investigative Strike Team have taken over the investigation. Ms. Herrera is a 22-year-old African-American female, 5’06” tall, and weighs approximately 100 pounds.
