“Broadway is a critical arterial roadway for our community and must be built to support such a function,” according to the Real Estate Daily News, and the “next three weeks are important to the RTA Broadway Project.” As a result, Tucson residents are being encouraged to speak out in support of the project.
After considerable work and concessions to a small vocal group of opponents, the Citizen’s Task Force, “established by the City of Tucson to provide input, recommended a “Starting Small Approach” focused on saving the maximum number of buildings. Unfortunately, this process was hijacked by a small, but very vocal and engaged minority group who wants to keep Broadway as it is,” reports the Real Estate Daily News.
Supporters of that plan are asking the public to weigh-in on the 30% design plan.
Comments and input to the design can be made by the public until April 15th, however the Tucson Mayor & Council will be holding a study session on April 5th. Proponents of the project are encouraging the public to attend that meeting and show that the plan has broad support.
