On May 2nd, 2014 Phoenix Police Detectives developed probable cause for the arrest of Alex Garcia, age 18 and Jesse Mesa, age 21, for the homicide of a clerk in a Phoenix tobacco store.
At just after 10:.00 on Tuesday April 29th, 2014 Phoenix Police Officers were called to the tobacco store at 502 W. McDowell Rd. in response to a commercial burglary. Upon arrival officers entered the business and found the 47 year old victim deceased. The victim had obvious signs of trauma to his body and the incident became a homicide investigation.
Officers also found a small fire inside the business and they were able to suppress the fire quickly.
Early in the investigation Officers learned there was supposed to have been a 2004, gold in color Cadillac Escalade parked at the business and this vehicle was missing. Phoenix Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating the Cadillac. The gold color of the vehicle is supposed to be quite unique. If anyone sees this vehicle they are warned to not approach, whether it is occupied or not, and are asked to please call 9-1-1.
