Tucson man arrested for attempting to lure a juvenile female

farnsworthTucson Police arrested 58-year-old Clayton Farnsworth on Wednesday for attempting to lure a juvenile female for sexual purposes. In January of this year, detectives from the Tucson Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, began an investigation into Farnsworth who posted an ad, indicating he was interested in underage girls. Detectives, acting in an undercover capacity, began chatting with the suspect.

Farnsworth said that he was in his late 50’s. The detectives were posing as a young teenager and the conversations ended up leading to an agreed upon sexual act. The suspect arranged to meet the young teenager at a specific time and location for sexual purposes.

On February 11, 2015, Farnsworth arrived at the scheduled meeting location where he was taken into custody with assistance from U.S. Marshals. Farnsworth was booked into the Pima County Jail on 1 count of Luring a Minor for Sexual Exploitation and 1 count of Attempted Sexual Conduct with a Minor. A search warrant was conducted on Farnsworth’s residence and additional charges are pending.

The Tucson Police Department urges parents to continually monitor all of their children’s Social Media Accounts to include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, or any others they may utilize.
