A Pinal County Sheriff’s investigation has led to the arrest of Charles Hawkins a 60-year-old Apache Junction man for molesting two children. Hawkins was arrested by Pinal County detectives on Dec. 22 at a residence on N. Idaho Road. Hawkins has a 1988 conviction for child molestation in the state of Nebraska.
The man alleged to have touched the daughter was identified as Charles Hawkins, a family acquaintance.” Sheriff Babeu went on to say, “Over the next few weeks, we followed up on the allegations and interviewed the 10-year old girl and her 7-year-old sister. We discovered that the suspect had been molesting both girls for an unknown period of time.”
Hawkins is being held in the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on four-counts of Child Molestation.
Sheriff Paul Babeu said, “This investigation began on November 16, when our deputies were called to a fight at a home on W. Kaniksu Street, in Apache Junction. When deputies got there and separated the combatants, they were told by one of the men that he had caught the other man touching his 10-year-old daughter inappropriately.”
