It was the dream of Navajo Code Talker Dan Akee to be able to live once again in the house he
had constructed over 40 years ago. With a major push from Red Feather Construction, OPVP,
local veteran services and many who volunteered, Akee’s home was renovated and he was able
to move in on Saturday, Feb. 6. Above, President Russell Begaye assists Akee as they enter the
home for the first time.
