Tucson Search Warrants Yield Guns, Drugs

Tucson – Two early morning, search warrants served in the Tucson area result in four arrests and the seizure of guns and drugs.

On April 14, 2016, after a one-month investigation into criminal activity in the Tucson area, two search warrants were served by detectives of the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s (ADPS) Gang & Immigration Intelligence Team Enforcement Mission (GIITEM) Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST). Both warrants were served in the south Tucson area. Two handguns and two shotguns were seized along with one ounce of methamphetamine and thirty-eight grams of heroin.

Two male suspects, Ralph Martinez, 39, from Tucson and Raymond Marquez, 42, also from Tucson were arrested and booked into the Pima County jail on drug and weapon charges. Two females, Erika Chavez, 29, from Tucson and Tina Sesma, 26, also from Tucson were arrested and booked for outstanding warrants.

The criminal investigation is ongoing.

Assisting the GIITEM BEST detectives were Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) BEST detectives, detectives from ADPS Highway Interdiction Team (HIT) and the ADPS, Pima, and Pinal County SWAT teams.
